Scott Brown: Cartoonist
by Christopher A. Kuntz

Scott Brown was an Ohio cartoonist

who made a great chocolate soda.

He was also my grandfather.

Scott Brown: Cartoonist tells the story of my grandfather's life.  The book contains his cartoons, early work, family pictures, artwork, and other memorabilia from museum displays, museum archives, magazines, and private collections.  Many of the images in this book have never been seen by the public.  The book includes artifacts from my own collection, and my childhood recollections of him and the Soda Shop.

Scott Brown published cartoons locally in the Mansfield News Journal and nationally in Colliers, the New Yorker, and the Saturday Evening Post.  Mansfield residents still remember him fondly as the proprietor of Brown's Soda Shop, where generations of locals enjoyed his chocolate sodas, cartoons, weather predictions, and gag gifts.  Most of his work is archived at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum at Ohio State University, alongside the works of cartoonists such as Charles Schulz (Peanuts) and Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes).
